Molecular Game of Life
A molecule becomes a pattern. Conway’s rules take it from there.

From molecule to pattern
Each atom is a row and a column in an adjacency matrix. A bond makes a live cell in both directions. Hydrogens are included; single, double, and triple bonds all count as one connection.
That matrix sits in the center of a 100 × 100 grid. A live cell survives with two or three neighbours; an empty cell becomes live with three. Updates happen together, and opposite edges join.
Atom order affects the starting pattern, so two SMILES strings for the same molecule can produce different evolutions. This is a mathematical visualization, not a chemical simulation. Molecules must have at most 100 atoms including hydrogens.
Molecule names come from PubChem. Structures are read by RDKit.js. The simulation runs on your device.
